Trucking Companies who violate Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration (FMCSA) regulations place us all at risk. Every one of us. Shockingly, a recent report by the American Association for Justice (AAJ) demonstrates that the scope of the problem is actually much larger than one might expect. The AAJ examined over a million lines of FMCA data on the US Trucking industry and found that over 28,000 trucking companies (representing more than 200,000 trucks), had records of violations of these important safety regulations. The AAJ report concluded that “[t]he effects of these violations are deadly. While truck accidents occur for a variety of reasons, many are preventable, and often a direct result of trucking companies violating safety standards to cut corners and maximize profits”.
